Duchess Kate was channeling full-on Princess Diana vibes in her long cobalt blue dress at the United Nations Climate Change Conference alongsidePrince William, who color-coordinated with his wife by wearing a blue suit and tie. Kate’s blue coat-dress, featuring three-quarter length sleeves and buttons at the waist, is by Eponine London. She accessorized with blue topaz and diamond earrings by one of her favorite jewelry designers, Kiki McDonough, and her ‘codebreakers’ poppy pin. (Poppies are worn in Britain throughout the month of November to honor people who have served in wars.) This delicate enamel brooch belonging to Kate specifically honors her grandmother and the other codebreakers of Bletchley Park during World War Two. The last time we saw this poppy pin was when Kate wore it in 2019 at the last Remembrance Sunday ceremony that Duchess Meghan would attend as a working royal. To finish the look, Kate wore her hair up in an intricate nest of braids. Prince Charlesand Duchess Camilla played host at last night’s reception. Queen Elizabeth II had been due to attend COP26 but pulled out following doctors’ advice to rest for the next two weeks. Instead, she delivered a video message to the assembled world leaders in which she expressed her hope that “this conference will be one of those rare occasions where everyone will have the chance to rise above the politics of the moment, and achieve true statesmanship.” Earlier in the day, the Earl and Countess of Strathearn (the titles that Kate and William use when they’re in Scotland!) arrived in Glasgow by train before meeting a group of Scouts to learn about their #PromiseToThePlanet campaign. In her role as patron of the Scouts, Kate wore a stripy neckerchief. Also making a comeback were her signature jeggings (mom jeans got a look in from the duchess just once this year, when she was receiving her COVID vaccination) and a warm quilted gilet. The vest is by Ganni and made from 100% recycled plastic. Next up, Meghan Glowed in California Garden for a Special Reading of her Children’s Book, The Bench
