The Full House star’s new holiday channel formally announced their first project together early on Tuesday, Sept. 13; A Christmas… Present not only stars Bure, but she’ll also be executive-producing. Bure’s own Candy Rock Entertainment developed the upcoming film, which finds the actress as Maggie Larson, an overworked realtor who takes her family to her widowed brother’s home for Christmas. Naturally, the two are at odds over the holiday, but Maggie eventually learns to love it. “A Christmas… Present is about slowing down enough to recognize what’s right in front of our eyes,” Bure said in a statement, per TVLine. “The hustle and bustle of the Christmas season will arrive before we know it but it’s through the quiet moments that we hear God speak to us, directing our path to what’s most important.” When Bure first jumped ship from Hallmark, she said, “I’m very excited to develop heartwarming family and faith-filled programming and make the kind of stories my family and I love to watch.” She described “constantly” searching out ways to inspire others to live their lives with purpose and felt that GAC fit her brand “perfectly.” “We share a vision of creating compelling, wholesome content for an audience who wants to watch programming for and with the whole family,” she added. “Great, quality entertainment with a positive message is what my partnership with GAC is all about!” Bure also shared the news on Instagram, writing, “SO HAPPY to announce that Candy Rock Entertainment is underway with their first Christmas movie of the season starring…me 🙋🏼♀️” Great American Media’s president Bill Abbott emphasized the film as “indicative of the memorable movies and family-friendly entertainment that Great American Media is looking forward to creating with Candace and the Candy Rock team.” A Christmas… Present is set to premiere this November as part of GAC Family’s Great American Christmas programming, which returns on Oct. 21.
