The daughter of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe took to Instagram to give fans a health update, noting that she injured her ankle on New Year’s Eve. “Starting the new year off with a bang…well, more like a pop…in my ankle. All because my clumsy self tried to hop over a (very large) rain puddle in heels. 🙃” the 23-year-old began in the caption, providing a thinly-veiled reminder to refrain from trying any stunts while wearing pumps. The night wasn’t a total flop, however, as she noted: “Currently feeling quite blessed to have a superstar friend and ER buddy like @jadensanders_ in my life. She seriously kept me giggling for all the hours we waited & only left my side once to go get us some cozy, dry clothes. Love you, J. ♥️” Ava admitted that the experience also inspired her New Year’s resolution: “I will definitely be adding “be gentler with my body” to my list of new year’s resolutions! Feel free to share what you’re looking forward to in the new year or any resolutions you may have in the comments. I would love to read them while keeping my ankle propped up in bed! ” In the photo accompanying the caption, Ava channeled her inner rockstar throwing up the “rock on” sign. She remained masked as she sat in a pink hospital chair, her ankle propped up to reveal her cozy zebra-print fuzzy socks. She topped off the note with well wishes for her million followers, noting, “Wishing peace, love, & good health for all of you in 2023 ✨” Meanwhile, Witherspoon rang in the new year taking in the beautiful sunny sights alongside her husband, Jim Toth, and their son, 10-year-old, Tennessee. Ava previously spent the Christmas holiday with her famous mom, stepdad, and step brother, along with her 19-year-old brother, Deacon. In the family portrait from the festivities, the family posed in front of a Christmas tree together, with The Morning Show actress captioning the photo: “Wishing all of YOU a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from our family to yours ! 🥰🎄✨”
